We are excited to offer both “get ahead” and credit recovery courses for current high school students this summer. School counselors will work with students who need credit recovery and can also assist with those looking to get ahead. See below for more information.

Get Ahead courses:
- Drivers Education
- Personal Finance/Consumer Education
- American Government
- U.S. History
Credit Recovery courses:
- Credit Recovery (electives and core classes offered)
- Algebra 1 – Semester 2 (students must have passed Semester 1)
What criteria is used for selecting summer school students? Any student looking to get ahead in credits or clear up a spot in their schedule can request a Get Ahead course. Each course has a specific set of prerequisites that must be met to be considered for a seat. Please note that, due to staffing, not every request may be able to be honored. Students needing a Credit Recovery course should sign up based on their credit deficiencies. Students who select a credit recovery option will be put on a list and verified by their school counselor to ensure eligibility.
When is summer school?
Session 1: June 3, 2024 – June 27, 2024; 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, at Huntley High School. This session will be presented in an in-person/blended format. Note: There will be no summer school on June 19th in observance of Juneteenth.
Session 2: July 1, 2024 – July 25, 2024; 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, at Huntley High School. This session will also be presented in an in-person/blended format. Drivers Education classroom will not be available for this session. Students completing their behind-the-wheel component of drivers education will have the opportunity to be in person during the July session.
What is the cost for summer school?
- Get Ahead course: $125
- Drivers Education: $250
- Credit Recovery course: $125
How do we register our child?
Will transportation be provided?
Transportation will be provided but will have an additional cost of $55. Please indicate your transportation needs at the time of pre-registration. Bus registration will close prior to summer school registration so please sign up early if you need the bus.
